Strange dForce explosions

Hi!

I've had a customer request help with Ultimate dForce Bed, but it seems they're having pretty bizarre issues with dForce itself, since i can't reproduce the results they're getting and i've never seen this happen before. It doesn't look like normal vert explosions, it's almost as if the mesh is turning to goo. They are using a Lenovo laptop and apparently it's a fresh version of studio. Rebooting hasn't helped. Has anyone seen this happen before? I'll attach the images they sent.

Thank you!

  • If you've replicated their settings and aren't getting the same results, then the issue is on their end.

Increasing the material density, collision offset, and/or reducing the Dynamics Strength may help.

Otherwise, it's something inside their system. OpenCL libraries, GPU, CPU/chipset drivers. "New" is not always "best".

Hi, Thank you for replying. I sent them a small test scene with just primitives and it seems the problem is dForce itself. They are getting vert explosions on just about everything. I'll suggest they open a ticket on this one because i have no idea what's going on. In the mean time though, i'll attach the test results they sent me, perhaps someone might run across this thread who has experienced this before. Thanks!

I couldn't help the person unfortunately, general dForce issues aren't really in my wheelhouse. I had to send them to daz support for further help, and i'm not sure what the outcome was. It would be nice to know what the answer was so i could pass it on to further inquiries though.

For anyone who comes across this thread, the original customer had their issue resolved by daz support. Apparently the issue was due to intel open CL being used as dForce default rather than their Nvidia card. Go to Simulation settings/Advanced and change the "OpenCL Device" to your Nvidia card. I hope this helps people!

Thank you to Ann at daz support, and Heiner for updating me on this issue.
