Need Help with a texturing issue

Hi, this is a piece of Armor I am working on. In image 1 you can see the armor has all been textured with all the exzact same settings. it is all the same colour, I checked and re checked the settings and all the pieces of the armor are all the same settings.

However when I render with Iray, image 2. I get the whole armore looking good except the sholder pads. they are somehow a lighter colour. I have tried to export my sholders many different ways, thinking it might be something to do with the normals. but nothing I do seems to change it so that it looks like the rest of the armore.

Any help or sugestions would be greatly apriciated.

thank you so much.

  • They're not lighter, they're just doing better with the reflection map and specular, presumably because they're getting more direct light.

If the pauldrons are a separate material, right-click on the torso (or some other different and separate material) and select Copy, then select the pauldrons and right-click>paste the material. If it's still the same, rotate the armor -90 degrees on the X and render it. You'll probably find the same thing, but on the torso instead.

Hi DrNewcenstein, thank you very much for your input. but the problum is still the same. I did what you sugested, copied the chest material for the sholder material and this is the result.

  • Well I fixed the problum, but truthfully I dont know how I did it. :P I just re-exported the 3d model as an OBJ but this time I gave it a stupid name like fghjgfjgfhj.OBJ

and when I textured it, it worked. :P strange.

Anyways, thank you for all the help. :)
