Users with a long memory may remember Kai Krause, the fabulously-mustachioed German genius who put a (relatively friendly) UI on Eric Wenger's algorithm toolbox to give the world the very first version of Bryce.

Today, he and his colleague Ben Weiss are launching a new fractal application, this time for iOS: Frax

    Sounds great!

I'm an old Kai's Power Tools fan.

    What is iOS?

Sounds like apple something or other.

Sorry, yes. iOS is the operating system that runs on Apple's mobile devices - iPhone, iPod and iPad.

The Frax application is available in two versions, one for iPad, the other for iPhone or iPod. See the Frax website for more info.

Incidentally, for Mac users who want to play with fractals there's an app called Scale that is currently free, and looks quite good.

Eh, I could never stand his interfaces myself, which is the only reason I ended up going with DS over Poser. I guess I can see why people might like them, but they were just never my thing, for space inefficiency if nothing else.
