Strange character shapes... maybe?

When I load a Gen 8 Female, sometimes it looks like Steven Tyler of Aerosmith (more so on some characters).  Even the the base G8F has the same sunken cheeks and large lips. Is that normal?  Or did I somehow break my G8F?

Within the DIM, I uninstalled the Essentials for G8 and then reinstalled, but I still get the same looking character.  As the character is loading in the scene, about 1/2 way in the loading pauses for a minute or two.  Is that normal?  Thats why I am wondering if I have a broken file or something.

Attached is a screenshot of what my G8F looks like... does she look ok to you all?

LOL, I thought you were joking but you're not. It looks like maybe you installed a 'Angelina Jolie' freebie morph from somewhere & it's active in the default G8F base. To find out, with the G8F model that looks like that selected in the Scene tab, click on the Parameters tab, and then click on the 'Currently Used' in that to see what morphs are active.

  • Ok, I loaded the G8F base model and sure enough, there were morphs loaded in the Currently Used.

Whats the best way to fix this?

  • Click the gear icon on the morph's slider>Parameter Settings, then set the Default Value to 0. Then File>Save As>Support Assets>Morph Assets and resave with the same names for products and author, so they overwrite the original files.

  • So I set all to zero and the figure looks better, BUT...

The figure isn't still the same as it did originally.  I know this because (luckily) my library is on an external hard drive while my G8F is on the local C:.  I am able to unplug the external drive and the G8F looks like a real person.

I have selected the Show Hidden and still do not see any other morphs.  Ideas?

  • Could you post comparison shots?

  • I am getting it figured out... just REAL SLOW.  I found that instead of looking at the "currently used" I click on ALL on the Shaping tab.  Then I scroll through each morph and look for anything that is not "0".  I have the G8F cleaned up now.  Yay!!!

Does anyone know of any script(s) that will help with this search?  If I can have something that does the search for me and list out all shapes that are not set at zero, it would save me hours

  • Currently Used should be showing everything that is non Zero (or for scale, not 100%).

  • I thought that too, but then I read that Currently Used really shows items that are not their default, not necessarily the items not zeroed.  In other words, if a morph had a default value of 33% (or 100% or whatever), as long long as I didn't adjust from that it wouldnt show under Currently Used.  It didn't make sense, but from what I am seeing, I think it's true
