Question re the DIM - where the files go?

It's a bit of a weird question, and possibly I'm a bit loopy asking but....I seem to remember when I was first using the DIM, downloading and installing stuff, that the packed files for the product would end up in My Downloads section. So even tho they were being installed, the actual product itself - the one that started with IM - was also put into a downloads folder.

Is this making sense to anyone? I'm wondering where they go now - whether i've changed a setting that I don't remember or what, as when I download AND install something, the packed product isn't to be found anywhere.

I know it's a strange question, and I have a feeling that I'm confusing something....

    All of my ZIP files which DIM downloads are here : C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\Downloads

    You can choose to delete them after the install I think, but I don't.

    You can also change the location the downloads are stored, unlike some of the other locations used by DIM. Click the gear icon, at top-right of the interface, and then at the top of the Downloads tab change the path.

    There's a check-box at the bottom of the "Ready To Install" tab for whether to delete the zip after installing or not.
