Error message: ‘The account referenced is not set up in install manager’. **Solved**
Hello everyone,
I have a question about installing my latest products that I have purchased.
My problem:
All products that I have purchased recently for DAZ3D are not showing any icons in the Products/Content library/Icons section (but are showing in the Products/Content library list alphabetically).
When I open the install manager all my new products download and install, but they do not work in the DAZ3D software, they appear in the Content library/Products list, but there are no icons to click on below the products list.
When I try to install the new purchases manually by clicking 'Download and install' on the purchased products, I get this message, 'The account referenced is not set up in install manager'.
I have checked my account e-mail address and password in account manager and they are correct and it shows hundreds of products installed.
Do you know what I am doing wrong?
Best regards,
Paul Green
Software: DAZ studio 4.6 Pro Version: 4.6.1.17 Pro edition (64-bit)

Solved.
When you create an account in Install manager, make sure the NAME of the account is the correct one (the one you initially used when you first installed the install manager), I thought just the e-mail and password were important, but it seems not.

I am struggling with the exact same problem, the inability to download purchases. I get the same error message. What name are you referring to? Is it the email address? Or the name shown when you access your account? I've tried both, but neither work.
Thanks in advance.
Hello Raly,
When you are in Daz 3D Install Manager, click on ACCOUNT, you will then see 'Account' and 'Password', choose 'Account', then 'ADD ACCOUNT'. here you will have two choices, 'Name:' and 'Email:'.
Both 'Name:' and 'Email:' must be the same ones that you used when you initially installed the Daz 3d install manager.
You could uninstall then re-install the Daz 3D install manager again to see it it helps.
Regards,
Paul
If you go to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\UserAccounts, there will be an .ini file and folder named with the user name Install Manager is expecting.
I went to the user account roaming folder and there is not ini. file with user account information on it. I have had this problem with install manager from the start. It always gives me the error that my user account information is not correct. I believe that this program will not install correctly that you have a bug with it or something. I have uninstalled it several times and reinstalled it and still it will not work correctly. I have removed all Daz 3d studio. Uninstalled the whole program and also manually removed all files and folder with DAZ on them from any where in my system and after that and run clean register program to make sure all Daz 3d files and folder are gone from the computer. I go to Daz web page, download and install the installer program again and I still get the same problem with error about account. The frustrating thing is that because installer does not work correctly I can not get all the DAZ products I bought to install correctly. I hope DAZ installer will be fixed so it will install on a computer correctly the very first time and have a very good uninstaller attached so these issues will never happen to any one else. I am not a software expert but I am no dummy. I also know when software is not coded right. I also hate a program of any kind (software that wants to have some code so that it keeps something running in the background) That is not good code in my mind. All I can say I am frustrated. I have spent good money for DAZ products and they will not install correctly.
What OS are you using, and are you installing with a user or admin account? If you run Install Manager the first time with Admin privileges, does it work correctly?
I am using Windows 7 Home Premium and I do have administrator rights. I am only one using this computer and made sure my user account was set to administrator. No it has never worked right in my experience with it. It always seemed to not load some product correctly. I could not find some products any where in content.
Can you try right-clicking DIM and choosing Run As Administrator and seeing if it properly saves the account information?
