No Textures in the Viewport

The renders come out fine, but I'm working without textures in the viewport.

I am in perspective view, and it is set to texture shaded.  I did not change the draw settings or anything.

I'm using 4.10.  I was installing DAZ new on a new computer, hadn't used the program in a while but was not new to DAZ.  Please help me understand why this keeps happening!  I had this problem the first day.  For a day or so everything was normal-- wasn't sure how it got "fixed"-- and now we are back to no textures in the viewport.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled repeatedly.

Screenshot attached of how this looks when I load V7.

It looks like you have Smooth Shaded draw style selected instead of Texture Shaded. Change that with the dropdown draw style in the upper right corner of the viewport. In your image both the draw style and camera selection controls look white on white. What's up with that?
  • Changing that dropdown did not fix it.  I don't know why the controls are white on white either..  I have tried a hundred things.  I don't believe it's a setting-- must be a glitch or the controls wouldn't be jacked too?  I want to uninstall and clean reinstall everything directly from the web site, but no way to do it anymore without Install Manager.

  • That is usually a GPU driver issue - what GPU do you use, and are its drives up to date?

  • I seem to have two chips-- Intel UHD Graphics 630 and also NVIDIA GEForge GTX 1060.  (I am not very knowledgeable about hardware.)  The drivers MAY be out of date.  I just reformatted the hard drive, and wasn't having problems with any programs prior.  I will try that!

  • If you right-click on your desktop and select nVidia Control panel there should be an option allowing you to specify which GPU Daz Studio uses - I suspect at the moment it's the Intel (you can check that in DS - Help>Troubleshooting>About Your Video Card.)

  • Windows 10 doesn't let me access the NVIDIA Control Panel-- but my search for it led me to the device controls.  I read online that sometimes you think you are updating drivers and it doesn't work, to do it from there?  I updated them again that way.  There was no way to set DAZ to use NVIDIA from outside the program, but I went to the render settings inside and instead of leaving CPU and NVIDIA both checked-- I unchecked CPU.  Something in all that made it work again.  THANK YOU!!
