I basically want to create a fairly buff male using Genesis.  I loaded the "base" Genesis Male.  Then on the right sidebar, some stuff popped up (little pictures of males of various shapes).  I want to use one of these, as my currently loaded figure is "blank". But when I click the small pic, it brings up a parameters menu I've never even seen before, and it doesn't change the figure's appearance.  What can I do?  I'm very new to DAZ but excited to create stuff.

See screenshot please. Thanks!

Move the slider on the right side of the small images to apply that morph to the figure.

You simply use the sliders on the side to change the body appearance. The image is simply there to illustrate the kind of body changes you can expect (stocky, bodybuilder,fat...), not to be clicked on and applied.

The figure has no nipples, pubic hair, or genitals.  Ligthen up.

Thanks!  It worked, but how do I get a textured skin?

Regardless of lack of details, if the groin on a male figure or groin or nipples on a female show and the surface is skin-like it counts as nudity for the purpose of the forum rules.

    Okay, no problem. :)

It worked, but how do I add texture to the skin?  It still had the glassly "blank" look.  Thanks!

Genesis Basic Male is supposed to load with textures. Is your viewport perhaps switched to Smooth Shaded? If so, the skin texture will not be displayed, even if it's there. Switch to Texture Shaded for a rough preview, or NVIDIA Iray for a more accurate preview (assuming you're going to render with Iray.)

You can switch between these (and other) modes by clicking on the small circle in the upper right corner of your viewport (= your "main window")

Okay, thanks!  I used "Texture Shaded" and it looks better, but still no gentials or nipples (male).  I found some cool stuff for "Phillip", but it all says "Materials" and I don't know how to use these resources. It has llike facial hair, eyes, chest, etc.  How do I use these please? (total noob here) hehe

The Phillip stuff is for Genesis 2 and won't work on Genesis.

Load a Genesis 2 Male character. Make sure he's selected in the Scene window (top right of your screen). Double click on the various materials to load them onto the character.
