Stop morphing my clothes

I'm making my own bodysuit out of genesis 2 male flesh and rigging it when I import back into Daz.  Everything's fine except that the figure is really muscular and  it's reapplying the morphs to the already morphed clothing so that now he looks like steroid boy.

I need the uniform morphed so I can retopo and UV it properly. Just importing to a nonmorphed uniform on an unmorphed figure and then morphing it makes my uniform look fugly cuz the UV's are all wrong.  And obviously retopologizing changes the topology so I have to make the UV map before I rig the model.

I've read some of the advice and evidently you gotta set something from zero to one and I couldn't find it and then some other stuff.

Could someone please assume I'm really really stupid and tell me what do to so the body morph doesn't effect the clothing when I rig it.  It's the perfect size and placement already. Weight it like it is Daz.   Oh and I realize this is probably a difficult problem that sounds like a not so difficult problem so I'm willing to do hard work.  But I just couldn't find what the sam heck what was being said..   Maybe Daz being 4 10 has something to do with it.  The advice was from 2014.

    1) Select your garment,
    2) Go to the Parameters Tab,
    3) Go the the symbol that looks like a set of lines with an arrow pointing up and left (it is at the the top and left of the Parameter tab), show hidden parameters,
    4) Look at Currently Used on the Parameter tab,
    5) Set the values to zero.

Almost.  I think I can take things from here.

You treated me exactly as stupid as I needed:)

Thanks a bunch.  You saved my workflow.

  • It kinda worked on the test model yesterday but on my production model which has more morphs it didn't work.   But on my actual model (after changing like thirty values to zero) it didn't work.  This had a lot more morphs.    I zeroed them all out (even the face morphs).  Didn't help.

Zeroed out the poses didn't help.

It happens when I fit the item.  And it's the last thing that happens.  The uniform ballons out like crazy as the last act of the fit.

I tried all the projections for genesis and genesis 2 female which were the only available options.

    Any ideas?

  • So this is an outfit that's been AutoFitted? Does it go away if you select the clothing and in the Parameters pane click the Fit to button and select None?

  • Thanks to the quick reply.  The uniform goes back to its normal shape and size with Fit To set to none.  Obviously it doesn't move with the figure but  I bet you already knew that.

  • Sorry, rereading your post I see you'd already explained what you are doing. You have the moprhs baked into the clothing, you need to export at base shaope or in the Transfer Utility set the Source Shape to your morphs (or select Use Current), then in the extended options at the bottom of the dialogue check Reverse Source Shape from Target.

However you can re-map a morphed shape, then load that as a new UV Set - all that is read then is the UV coordinates, the actual shape doesn't matter, so you don't need have a match with the base model. If you do actually need to retopologise, however, then you will need to use one of the above methods to avoid doubling your morphs.
