Older cute children's books now creepy?

So, I seem Dolled Up this morning and thought it looked neat so figured Id debate on whether to get it while at work and see if there were ideas of things to make. Now I remembered a series of books my mom told me about, "The Lonely Doll" and how she loved reading as a kid, now this was like 13+ years ago, so searching online I was able to get her two books 1 at a different point of time. Anyway, they were a cute stories. So, I thought at work I could makeEdith the doll, while googling for pics I was shocked to see the book being called spooky, granted the article and happenings surrounding it could be spooky. It's not just with that series either, this obe is creepy but at the age level....I had to laugh at my one class I had to take in school, we had to record ourselves reading for sick kids in the hospital, and it was close to halloween, well we had to pick books to read aloud and get them approved. My approach was to go halloween themed and do a "scary" book our teachers read to us in 2nd grade, the teacher didn't allow it due to the fact one of the syories had a morbid ending dealing with a ribbon, but its literally the 4 words of that small story. Anyway sorry for the mindlessness rant, it just shocked me.
