A free, simple, software to create an irregular shape?

Daz 3D allows me to make very basic things when I need them, as long as they're based on regular shapes : rectangles, cylinders, etc... But sometimes I might want an *irregular* shape, for instance in this case, a puddle of water. What simple software would allow me to do that?

I would find a software that can create a shape as a closed 2D spline (bezier curve or whatever). Then extrude the spline to make it 3D.

Blender is free; simple, that is another matter. Though the 2.80 beta is much more intuitive than blender has been historically.

Wings 3D is free and not too difficult to wrap your head around.

OK. Since, that's the simplest, I going to see what I can do within Daz Studio. I found a video tutorial about dformers, and I'll try that. Thanks all.
