How do Iget the shoes from my Sensibility Expansion to fit my V4?

Help! When I add shoess from the extension (I do have Sensibility for Victoria) they just go below my character (see attached). The only place I can find the shoes are under Poser Formats/My DAZ3D Library/Props/Sensibility and I have the pose under Poser Formats/My DAZ3D Library/Pose/Sensibility. For other items I try to add I get a request to fit the item to the character, but this doesn't do that. I'm so lost. Any help would be appreciated, even if its to send me in the direction of where this question has been answered before (I tried doing a search).

Thanks,

Susan

    2 questions

Are you using V4 or a V4 morph on Genesis

And did you have the figure selected when you clicked on the prop shoes

Question 1: Did you have the V4 selected at the time you Loaded the Shoes?
Question 2: Is this the V4 figure and not a Genesis V4 morph? And again figure needs to be selected at Load.
Question 3: Have you tried Fit to from the Parameters Tab?

    EDIT: And we Cross posted...

Thanks for the quick reply I'm not sure how to answer the first question. I'm using a basic female and when I put clothes on it ask me to fit to something, and I choose Victoria 4, which has always worked before. I do have the figure selected when I click on the prop shoe. What's really weird is doesn't give me the "fit to" option under parameters. I broke it. :-(

If by basic female you mean you are using the basic female figure included in the DS 4.6 app, the shoes will not fit out of the box.

These shoes were rigged and designed to conform to Victoria 4.

DS4.6 comes currently with Genesis that can go from andro to male to female to child as well as the Genesis 2 Female. These two figures are not the same as Victoria 4.

Well I guess purchasing that was a waste of money. I'm taking it there's no workaround on this. Very frustrating. Thanks for your help.

The shoes are props. so you just need to line them up with the feet (use the Universal tool, or the parameters, as you will probably need to use translation, rotation and scaling). Once you have them lined up select each in turn and go to File>Save as>Support Asset>Figure or prop asset, put your name as the author (or perhaps (DAZ Conversions, as a reminder that it is a conversion of a DAZ item) and put Sensibility as the product name. That should give you files, if you save them to \People\Genesis\Clothing\Sensibility, that you can reload as needed.

Thank you. I will definitely try that. Since I'm being a pain in the rear, if you don't mind I have one other question. When I try to move the shoe on top of the foot it goes behind it. Is there a way for me to bring it forward above the foot? I've had this issue with other items, but ended up rearranging things to accommodate the problem.

    Thanks,

    Susan

I'm not quite sure what you mean, though if you are using the on-screen widget it is, as I know all too well, easy to use the wrong axes sometimes as the angle of view makes it unclear which is going to move vertically and which horizontally - if in doubt there are pop-ups tips if you hove the mouse for a moment. You can also use the Tool Settings pane to change which axes are used for the widget - its own, which shift as you adjust it, or those of the world around it, which don't - sometimes one is better, sometimes another (though I still want the option to use the axes belong to an item's parent, such as the foot for the shoes).

Sorry this has taken me so long. I've been slammed at work. What I can't figure out is how to get the shoe to show on top of the foot versus hidden by the foot. I understand why it won't fit to the foot, but I can't resolve this particular issue. I've attached a screen shot that shows what the shoe looks like when I import it, if I move it up, and if I try to place the shoe on top of the foot (which it doesn't do).

    Thanks for your help.

All the shoes I've used so far for the genesis 2 female have been made for Victoria. It's not as bad as some people here make it out to be. You'll probably need to widen the shoes a little to fit (victoria probably has narrower feet than G2). Beyond that I haven't had any problems once I get the shoes in place. You could look for some shoe morph freebies that alter the feet to fit better if you still have some clipping. I usually use a shoe fit morph that gathers the toes to prevent clipping.

Hi all - I'm a newbie at this, but I am getting it figured out slowly. So, this brings up something I have tried to figure out. How do I hide feet? I tried to do that so they just wouldn't show under the dress and therefore I wasn't as concerned with the shoes, but don't know how to do that.

    Everyone's help is sooooo appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Susan

On the right there should be a "scene" tab where a list of everything in the scene is displayed. Next to them are two symbols one of which is an open eye. Clicking the eye makes that item no longer be visible in the scene. You're going to have to do it for each foot and each set of toes seperatly.

Best to everyone who helped me!
