Scene from Poser into DAZ Studio?
![Fauvist](https://farnsworth-prod.uc.r.appspot.com/forums/uploads/userpics/985/n6FEF9739B6DF.jpg)
In Poser 2012 I want to load a human figure, apply texture, add a hair prop, add dynamic clothing, apply a pose and have the dynamic clothing respond to the pose (in the Cloth Room) - then, I want to take that fully textured, posed, draped figure, and export it to DAZ Studio 4.6. How, or as what, do I save that figure in Poser - then export it, then import it into DAZ Studio?
Thanks!

I'm able to open pz3 scene files in DS just fine. You may need to adjust textures based on if those are Poser procedurals or texture based.
Is the pz3 file just the clothed figure, or is it everything in the scene - the furniture and other figures and lighting etc?
Mine imports everything, including the cameras and lights.
Sometimes I get missing *.obz errors in DS that I don't get in Poser, but otherwise everything's there.
What I want to do is import only one figure (texture, hair, draped clothing), not the whole scene. So how would I save just the figure etc?
Oh, select your character in the scene (body) and save it as a CR2, it will tell you about it being part of a compound group, select whole group. This will export the character and everything that's conformed to it. I haven't used dynamic clothing in Poser, so I can't test that one, but you could export the clothing itself, in it's draped form as an OBJ and import that into DS if it doesn't get saved with the CR2.
/edit
You may or may not get importing errors about morph deltas. The figure comes through fine, but the morphs may not be there (ie I exported Devon V4 from Poser, and she imported into DS as a stock V4 without the Devon morph applied- the dial is there, but it has no effect).
Another option, is to create the character and pose it in DS, but export the draped clothing out as an OBJ and import that into DS.
With poser dynamics, what i do is once the drape is finished, i select the dynamic object and go to OBJECT > SPAWN MORPH TARGET and it saves the drape at that frame. I then delete the animation and reapply the final pose to my figure and the dynamic with the drape should be a perfect fit. I then save and import that into DS, works great.
Is this related to the old problem of external morph files, that Poser uses by default but D|S frequently garbles? The solution to that is to find the "use external morph files" setting (somewhere hidden in the depths of Poser preferences) and turn it off before saving the scene or figure file.

Shouldn't be. The character I tried it with didn't use PMDs.
If you have use external binary morph targets unchecked in your general prefs for Poser, pmd's will not be created. If you leave it checked in the general prefs, Poser will by default create pmd's which are stored in the same folder as the cr2 and obj files.
It has nothing to do with the characters and everything to do with Poser's default handling of morphs. If I load Genesis and then save it to the figures library as a cr2 with use external binary morph targets checked, a pmd file will be created that contains all the morphs that were listed in the parameters dial.
Doh! Good call. I've been working with Dawn lately and keep forgetting to turn PMDs off. >.<</p>
/loads poser > checks misc tab > sure as hell, they're enabled.
/sigh
I really need a sticky note on my desk to remind me to turn those off when I'm done with her.
