my on going confusion

You have all been of great help, especially Scott so here I go again. When installing you are supposed to have an install path.I use the following
C:\documents and settings\Administrator\my documents\daz3d\studio\my library.......This i understand but then right underneath that I'm supposed to have another install path?like this
C:\documents and settings\all users\shared documents\daz3d\studio\my daz3d library....this idouble format is then repeated for the poser end of things
in the content library plane you have something that looks like this(sorry i don't have a screen shot thingy)

DAZ STUDIO MY LIBRARY
POSER STUDIO?or my daz 3d lib
my confusion is first why do i need both of those paths...in most of all the screen shots and tutorials I see i never see MY LIBRARY and STUDIO underneath it.I usually only see the MY LIBRARY one..plus,even when i do things as I've listed there never seems to be any thing in theSTUDIO or my daz3d section...I only end up using
DAZ STUDIO--------MY LIBRARY or
POSER//----------MY LIBRARY....I know I sound like a noob idiot...but I'm actually pretty smart...Man i hope in daz 5 they make all of this easier especially installing things and having to open the files and figure out what file goes where and ok library goes last and imagine library as content...and you should never use a file that has runtime at the end and then the next guy shows me an example and it has runtime at the end and i just want to make art...please help me not to be daz stupid and please tell the people at daz I said..."STOP IT!"....Really as a consumer non programing engineer I should be able to just hit a "CLICK HERE TO INSTALL" button when downloading stuff...I shouldn't have to worry about what path every one is on or have to worruy about duf or dsf or whatever...sorry I've been confused about all of this forever.I'm sure if I had someone from daz sitting right next to me as i did this It would all make sense really fast. The reason i'm trying to figure this all out is because I'm doing a cleann install and want to make sure i get this all right. One last thing.A very big mistake is mixing in daz3 video help in the daz 4 documentation the 2 directly conflict with each other as far as content and librarys go...ok I'm done...any help understanding would as always be helpfull......thanx....raykat

Basically the problems of inconsistence you see is a heritage from Poser file structures invented early 90s.
And the reason for a Poser and DS "runtime path" is very simple, only a limited few items out there are made fior DAZ Studio, so they are in one path for the user, while the items made for Poser (which can be used by DAZ Studio) sits in the Poser structure).

I am sorry but you do have to worry about what path to use. DIM and Studio allow users to pick a content library location/path so we may customize your library or libraries to your liking. The library or libraries do not need any special names, just avoid specialty characters like punctuation in the name. It really isn't that hard though, as long as the install path for DIM and the library path (under both DAZ and Poser formats in Content Directory Manager) for Studio match you are good to go. It is third party content that can be tricky as it is often packaged wrong and has faulty instruction on how to install.
