AtmoCam and Glass Transparency

Hi there,

I'm trying to use AtmoCam in a space scene where one of the walls is pretty much one giant window. I have a background loaded in and the whole scene looks and renders great, until I add in the AtmoCam volume (or any atmosphere dome product, such as Iray Dawn to Dusk 2). I've made sure the AtmoCam's volume is located inside the walls (as pictured), but for whatever reason, the glass is rendering as opaque. I've tried any number of IRAY glass shaders at my disposal, even a couple water ones. And it's not just this scene. I've had this same issue with other scenes where there is a window I want to see out of - I just can't seem to use any sort of atmospheric product with it. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or maybe the glass isn't the problem and the background environment map is?

I've attached screenshots of the scene, both with and without the volume sphere.

Thanks!

What is the Max Path Length? (Render Settings -> Optimization). The default is -1, which is some internally optimized value, or so I've read. If it's too low (like 1 or 3), light can't get through the atmosphere and the glass from the background image. Other lights might not have to travel bounce on as many surfaces, so parts of the render could be okay. Try bumping up the Max Path Length to 5 or higher to see if it makes a difference. I don't think it makes a difference if the dome is completely inside the structure.
