Hey Guys!
I've got this scene on Poser Pro 2014 and I'm trying to render it but whenever I do I get these messy black spots all over it. I've checked the texture thoroughly and the spots aren't on the texture, does anyone know how to fix this?
Many thanks!

My first thought would be that your render is running out of raytrace bounces before hitting a surface with a colour, in which case increasing the number of Raytrace bounces in Render Settings may help.
Richard you brilliant man! Thanks a bunch!!!! Working brilliantly now!
Hi Richard,
I turned the raytrace up and the black spots got worse so then I turned it down and it got better but they didn't disappear until I got to 0... which has now caused more problems because now the oscars look super reflective.... like SUPER in an unrealistic way...
And so now I'm unsure...
P.S. They're inside a glass case but they still seem to be reflecting quite a lot
Could you post a screenshot of the material room settings for the statues? It looks as if they are using mapped reflections, possibly with the addition of real reflections, so turning the bounce down (eliminating the real component) leaves only the mapped component which is the same for each. If the statue is a freebie, using its original materials, you could link to its source.
Hope this helps! I apologize for my lack of knowing much about these things. The model was bought of Turbosquid but since then I have applied new textures to it.

What kind of lighting are you using? I notice that it looks like there's a fog on the case glass that gets worse as you go from left to right, and the problem with the Oscars seem to worsen in the same way. For fun, I wonder what would happen if you saved another copy of the scene for testing, deleted the case or hid its glass, then rendered again using your original settings? I wonder if the Oscars would still show the same black spots?

Afraid not, though if you think it would help then feel free to suggest something
Another question. What's in the scene in front of the Oscars to show in their reflections? I know they aren't mirrors, but they are reflective all the same. Are they merely reflecting a black nothingness?
It really appears to be a problem with the material, though I don't know if the material itself is the problem, or if something in the scene (lighting, etc.) is causing those black artifacts.
There is a light just above the oscars that has come from the cabinet but apart from that there's nothing directly in front
Just throwing thoughts out there, but those black areas look like the reverse of the kind of flares caused by too much light creating glare on a surface. But I'm unsure what would cause "negative" glare, if that's even what it is.
GENIUS! I've turned it down and there's still some slight dots but I can turn it down more if necessary!
Awesome! Glad I could help.
And no one asks how can I get an Oscar? Then I'll do: Please where is that from?
