Hi there, it looks very nice. Pity it is not for poser or I would have bought it like a shot.
If you update it please let me know.

I really, really like this also.
Yes, very pretty and realistic farmhouse
A petty it is not available in poser format, so I have to pass on it
And yet another Poser user here who would buy it.
Ditto!
Would it not work at all? I'm only asking out of ignorance and curiosity. I buy "Poser only" stuff all the time for Daz Studio and while it isn't intended for Studio I get it to work mostly.
I have Poser but don't use it due to problems I have with it, but I haven't tried a "Daz only" product.
I'm just curious if any parts of it would work.
DAZ Studio can parse most Poser files. It can use dynamic hair, cloth sims, pmd's, mt5, mc6, and python based scripts. Lights and surface settings are different due to the render engine and probably some other factors.
If you have Poser 9 or better and the DSON importer installed, you can either directly import duf files (if they have Poser Companion Files) or you can download Dimension3D's free DSON loader script from his website. The free script requires the DSON importer be installed to Poser but will open both dsf and duf files even if there are no Poser Companion Files.
DSON DAZ files require the installation of the DSON importer and newer versions of Poser. Depending upon a number of other factors, some users have no problems with this and others have major issues that generally cause them to abandon the whole thing.
I think you meant to say "It cannot use dynamic hair, cloth sims, pmd’s, mt5, mc6, and python based scripts"...
Anyway, the farmhouse in question isn't a Poser product - it's a Daz Studio 4.6 DSON product. Which means I can't use it, either - there's no DSON loader for Daz Studio 3. (Studio 4.6 might be free, but the hardware to run it on isn't...)
Put me down as the sixth person who would have bought it, if only...
Ok, my typing is lousy. It's not like I'm a secretary. Ohhh, wait, they don't call them that anymore do they?
Thank you for your time and effort. The information helped me understand the situation a little better!
Hey guys, thanks for the kind words. I will look into the possibility of doing any appropriate conversions. Really glad so many people seem to like it!
Thanks. I just looked at it, was about to buy then saw the requirements and went "If only ..." Looks terrific, I actually live in a very old house, the most recent parts of it were added in 1968 and the main part is about a hundred years older, 1864 I think. So I know all about small spaces and trying to fit modern appliances & furniture therein. Anyway this will definitely be mine should there ever be a conversion.
Great looking product.
Would have tossed it in the basket, but it it won't work in Carrara.
What a shame.
I thought it should work with 8.5. It will open, but the mapping on the south porch roof is wonky. Everything else looks ok.
Also a closer view. That is not a shadow.
ncamp
Kind of weird, as the UVW mapping itself should remain consistent. All the programs, including DS4.6, would be using the same OBJ files with the same mapping coordinates.
The siding above the front porch roof looks a little weird too.
All the roofs share a single UVW map as well, so it is doubly strange that 5 of the 6 surfaces would be fine and the other one would weird out that way.
It is strange.
The siding above has some oddly shaped polygons on the boards showing the error. But if I go in and crease the edges, they look ok.
Taking a closer look, the UV Map looks ok in the uv map editor. If I relax the UV and make it smaller, everything is fine (except the shingles are not the same size anymore). But, when I put the mapping close to the original position, I get the black area black.
I just bought the Farmhouse not realizing it was Daz Studio only. :( I'm so sad, as I loved it on sight and was really looking forward to working with it in Poser. Add me to the chorus that would love to see a Poser version. As it is now, I guess I will have to ask Daz if I can return it, since I can't use it. (And it looks so awesome!)
It hit my cart the minute I saw it.
And I so did NOT want to spend $20 this pay period.
So, your first product out the door, and you and I have already embarked on a serious love/hate relationship :D
*Nice* piece of work. Looking forward to your Evil Summer Camp as well. And yeah, I'd love a Poser-compatible update if and when you get it figured out. Once you get past the texture tweaking, I think you'll find the Poser directory structure's pretty easy, compared to Studio's. At least it seems that way to me.
It's the potential scaling conversions that make my brain want to melt.
Please let us know when and if that conversion will happen ASAP. I was really looking forward to this purchase until I tried to load with Poser Pro. The scene looks great, but I've tried everyway I can think of to break it down and export to PP and am at a dead end.
Anyone else have ideas? I bought the farmhouse on sale and would gladly pay the difference for a conversion.
I am learning Poser now and have already converted one house into that format. Unfortunately the original Max file for the Farmhouse became corrupted and I can't get it to open. I do still have the individual obj files, but without the Max file to work from it is a slow process of individually importing and sizing nearly 100 objs.
I am still planning to do the conversion, but it's no longer a task for a rainy day, rather something I have to schedule for a slow week. I will post an update here when I have more information.
Thanks!
Ouch!
Thanks for keeping us updated.
