Where is V4?

I am very new to Daz Studio so please bear with me. I bought the V4.2 base and morphs and used the Daz installer, but when I open the program I can't find her? Thanks in advance.

Go to the content library/poser formats/my daz3d library/figures/DAZ people. Doubleclick the V4 icon to load her into the scene. You'll find the skins and morphs in poser formats/my daz3d library/pose. Some skins may be in materials, most are in pose;)

  • I will do that, thank you :-)

Also be aware that V4 is not having native Iray materials, so it's possible that you end up with very glossy skin.

  • Is there another way to render in Daz Studio besides Iray? Years ago I used Poser and it seemed easier.

    ???

I haven't had that problem of recent. But maybe in my first-ever 3DL renders I didn't know enough to go to the Surfaces tab and from there select the appropriate effect eg. plastic, glossy plastic, matte, skin or metallic, or glossy metallic etc.

I did have the V4.2 base and all extensions disappear from one of my computers for some reason. So I hooked up an internet connection and re-downloaded everything using DIM. Problem solved.

As Roman said, you can use 3Delight, poser mats work quite well right out of the box. You will need to adjust a number of things like glossiness, ambient strength and bump settings;)

You have two choices:  Iray and 3Delight.  Keep in mind that both will have a learning curve.
