That's a good question. Have you tried searching through the LOWEST priced items first? There's a lot of interesting "old" stuff to look through and some of it is free.

One of my bugaboos is similar terms or proximity references. Example "pool" as in the game that you play, eg. "billiards". Those two have been a bit tricky.

Just typing in broad general terms, maybe you want to start more slowly? Or describe one scene or project that you have in mind and people will suggest various approaches.

One thing I noticed is that I sometimes/often miss the little extras -- like the artist or vendor might have a separate web page that tells more about the product, or there might be a User Guide of some sort in PDF form. And once or twice I think there was a "fix" or "add-ons" available and I somehow missed that bit of extra information.

Also I've bought things here and there that come with a detailed packing list or readme file.

Like I said, when the issue occurs, DAZ is specifically reporting a CMS connection failure in an error popup.

Everyone gets sometimes similar errors. I asked befofe and a guy told me exactly what to do:

    1. When you get such error open the smart content tag

    2. Look at the left bottom part. You will see a button which is not there when Daz works normally. Click on it and the smart content will appear.

    3. Restart the program

Thanks again for this suggestion.  I do now see the "Start CMS" button in the Smart Content pane.  It does seem like that should be the fix.  I tried it a number of times, quiting and relaunching DAZ each time.  Not working for me.

I tried logging out of that user and logging back in.  Doesn't work either.

Best I can tell for now, a restart of the entire Mac is the only thing that works.  No idea why.

I am not sure what exactly was written on the button, but the button appears exactly where I showed you on the screenshot. And I am absolutely sure it works on PC. Maybe it doesn't work on MAC, have no idea about this, sorry.

As for the "search" function of the shop as the Daz have no exact convention how to name the stuff and as there are many different artists, it is actually a mess. Bassically if you are searching for "legs" for example I think at the 1st place will appear the results with the word "legs" in the title - but again if you are searching for *legs" to find legs morphs the artist may have named his package "The best lower body morphs for your character" (just an example):-)

Thanks Handel, yes, that's the button I see here.  Clicking it doesn't change anything in my setup (on a Mac).   I get a little beach ball spin to indicate something is happening, but Daz is still dead.  Restarting the mac does fix everything though.
