Morph Parameters

Hi,

I've been using DAZ Studio for about a month now and I love it.

One of my figures uses the G8 Body and Head morphs. It took me a long time to get the figure just the way I wanted it to be.

So my question is:

1. Is there a way to copy the morphs from one figure to another, so I don't have to repeat the effort all over again?

OR

2. Is there a way to print the "Used" Parameters for a figure from the Parameters tab so that I can use the printed copy to input just the used parameters on the new figure?

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Michael

Easiest way would be to save the shape as a shaping preset, which you then can load onto other characters of the same generation. You can save the whole body or only selected morphs. Select your character, go to file/save as/shaping preset, uncheck everything you want excluded and save it. To load it onto another character, find it in your content library/DAZ studio formats/My Library/presets/shaping presets, and doubleclick with the character selected.

If I understand your question right you don't want to "copy" the "morphs" but the current morph slider values you had set from one G8 figure to another G8 figure.

Therefore select the figure in the scene, open the Content Library pane, select a folder or create one first, then press the plus icon at the bottom of the Content Library pane and choose to save a Shaping Preset from the list.

After entering a name and pressing save you will see the Shaping Preset Save Options dialog. Just press Accept and you have saved the Shaping Preset that you can apply to a G8 figure in the same or another scene. By default all Properties (the morph sliders) in the bottom list of the dialog are checked, those include all "current" values of the Parameters pane.

The Shaping Preset will only save the shape but not the skin shader / textures or the current pose / expression.

To save the shaping and skin shader / texture settings use the Character Preset instead.

    2. Is there a way to print the "Used" Parameters for a figure from the Parameters tab so that I can use the printed copy to input just the used parameters on the new figure?

The Shaping Preset Save Options dialog offers an Option Menu button at the upper right where you can select Check Only > Check All Modified Only. If you now apply this saved Shaping Preset to another figure it will apply the values of the shaping morphs but not reset any other existing shaping values on the figure. With this its possible to add a certain shape to a current character morph with this preset.

Another option to mix Shaping Presets is to hold down the Ctrl / Cmd key while applying (doulbe-click) the Preset from the Library. You will get this dialog where you can choose Additive instead of default Replace.

The results may or may not look apealing.wink
