How far backwards compatible is DS 4.x?

I found a scifi background set at Renderosity that is rather unique. I had to look there because no artist at this site seems to have thought of creating a starship crewman's cabin set. But the one I found is for Poser 5 up, Poser 8 recommended. It does say it useable by DS 2.3, but it does not use the term DS 2.3 up. Would a DS 2.3 compatible model work in 4.5 (and 4.6)?

It should, unless the maker provided customised materials presets and did something to the script that the conversion routines don't like (unlikely). No doubt you will need to adjust the materials.
