Need advice on render settings

Hi,

Not looking to use any of the advanced settings just simple render settings. I can't get body hair mapps to look crisp enough. I know there are settings that will get more detail out of a map but I can't seem to remember how to do it. Right now every attempt is coming out blurry!

HELP

HAHAHA.... I figured it out. Here are my settings. I saved the render settings out as something that can be applied to a scene with need of allot of detail being brought out like body hair.

Turn the shading rate down to 0.1 even if you can afford the time. IIRC pixel samples are the other main thing that affects what you're looking for. I have them at 12 normally.

Shading rate and pixel samples definitely give me the most bang for the buck. Just be really careful with raytrace depth unless you want to be rendering all day :)

Thanks folks. I might tweak it a bit more but pretty happy with what I came up with. I have a fast system so it's OK for ME. I will put a warning about shading rate and pixel samples in the ReadMe when the time comes.

Isn't that pixel filter width a bit high? I thought 6, 6 was the optimum for sinc. Also wondering if you're using the 4 raytrace depth. Unless you're rendering lots of reflection bounces there isn't much need for more than 1 (in most cases I can think of). Sorry I know you weren't asking about those lol

I also agree that increasing pixel samples will help. Try for 12 and see if you notice much difference.
