Can anyone identify which hair product was used for the main promo pic for this page:
Modern Muses Yzande V6
It looks almost like Caprice Hair, or maybe the new
Crazy Locks, or possibly Duchesse Hair, if you can hide that hair band.

I've been trying to find a medium-to-long spiral-curl hair piece for a while now.
The whole "won't pose properly" problem has been enough of a headache that
I've been considering if putting a different texture on Zed Hair would work better.
I've seen that done to fake cornrow braids and dreads for long hair styles before.

But it'd be a lot easier if I could just find a hair piece that was mostly the right size/shape already.

It's definitely Caprice. That's my vote, anyway.

My experience is that there are basically no hairs that can look right when a figure is lying down, or that can hang straight away from the head or body (for e.g., as when on one's hands and knees). I guess the technical issues must just be insurmountable. There's Garibaldi/LAMH, but those aren't great for dreads, I don't think. When I'm rendering for myself rather than for promos sometimes I paint hair on in post.

The only 2 ways I can think of the get hair to behave as it would in the real world is to either paint it in post or use strand based hair. However, I have found that even strand based hair does not always follow the laws of nature. No matter how many environmental and other parameters you can program in. There's just something not quite natural about it...
