Genesis 8 Female EYES problem

ahuntahunt Posts: 20

Some time ago, I had a strange problem when posing genesis 8 characters. I started noticing that when I used the "Eyes closed" dial, my character would not completely close the eyes (see attached image). At the time I first noticed the issue, I was able to trace back the problem which was related to a wrong instruction of a character called LiNa. By renaming the module "MCMs_LEyeClose_LiNa.dsf" located into the morphs folder of the character, everything went back to normal. The character's creator eventually updated the module, and that fixed the issue for ALL the genesis 8 characters I have.

Now, after a while (and new characters installation) I am noticing that the base genesis 8 figure can't close both eyes in the right way. Finding wich of the characters I own is generating the issue is nearly impossible...

Question: is there a way to find who is generating the issue?

Thank you,

AH

  • In the parameters pane, open the option menu (the lined button in the top corner or right-click the tab) and check Show Hidden properties, if it isn't checked already. Now you can look under Currently Used with the eyes closed and you should be able to find the stray morph - if it isn't clear which character it is from click the gear on its slider>Parameter Settings, copy the Name (not the Label, which is what shows in panes) and do a file search for that in your content directories.

    Richard, thank you for answering.

I did what you suggested but I only get the"normal" Eyes Closed (the main dial plus left and right).

Ok. I think I've found the origin of the problem.

To spot the issue out, I went in the log and found two "Eyes Closed" R/L dsf files. By searching for the filename, I have identified the morph of a character which was causing the issue.

I wonder how many of these errors are around if the basic morphs gets overwritten so easily by other characters' morphs...

    BTW,

Is there a way to get in touch with the creator of a character on DAZ?

    Thank you

  • If it's a Daz set, and there isn't an updated version, please open a Technical Support ticket to report it as a possible bug.
