Horse
I am a bit confused when I look at the horses here in DAZ store. There is so much there and I have not a clue what I should be getting. I would like just a normal horse, nothing fancy, something to toss in the background, or have the human stand next to. I am not a real artist like I seen here, I dabble with DAZ for the fun mainly, so when I see horse after horse items I am a bit withdraw as I really just want the horse all alone nothing else.

If you are rendering in Iray, want different breeds and more coat colours, it's best to get the Pro package, and the Iray Add on:
There's also a Horse availble at Hivewire, that doesn't have the upper part of the mane missing.
Yes, that one's looking great, too. Here's a render of the Hivewire horse in 3Delight I did a while ago, but it also has Iray settings.
I tend to work more with the Hivewire Horse. He has the hoof feathering and has an excellent unicorn, a foal, a toon horse, a few more breeds and coat colors.
Daz Horse 2 has more wearables, such as armor, saddles and such. The Hivewire Horse, aka, 'Harry,' has 2 saddle types and a converter to wear DH2 stuff.
Which is better? They both look good. Take a good look at each, because both are an investment.
If you happen to find long, luxurious waves of mane and tails, this is done with Photoshop PSD packages called Mane N' Tail by CWRW and will make either horse look fabulous. Here's an example:

Also one can do a lot more with the mane and tail on the HW Horse even without my Mane N Tail products- this is a straight DS Iray render -
