Any Leandro textures that don't look like THIS? (blood warning)

9/10 when I render Leandro it looks really choppy and spiky and I don't like it. It just looks...egh. But that is the style that I need for these characters so I can't afford to change it.
So I have posted here my issue and I want something that looks not like that.
I posted this pic because it is my most recent and it shows the problem I have the ...wellest.

I am having some difficulty understanding what you mean.
What issue are you exactly struggling with?
    You mean the hair?

I think he means that Leandro (which is a haircut) looks clumpy and either stylized or toony.

I think the OP is referring to the Leandro hair texture. What app are you rendering in? What are your render and material settings?

I haven't looked at the product but does the product have material settings for the app you're rendering in?

    What lighting are you using?

Sorry but I need more information.

I think it's styled to be choppy and spiky.

To soften it you would need to use either a different texture or a different transparency map.

Using lighter shades will soften the effect naturally as dark hair always shows the angle of a cut.

There are a few add on texture sets at renderosity that might have a softer transparency.
Or you could make a copy of the original transparency map and soften it in photoshop or gimp with a slight blur
Or if you're using poser you could just increase the transparency falloff in the material room

Turning off cast shadows on it would also help. It's casting shadows on itself which is increasing the clumpiness.
