Infinity Cyc curve is always hot.

I'm trying to build an infinity cyc but I'm having problems with the curve always being hot.
I've set the material to matt, the spec to 0 and the gloss to 100 but the curve is still hot. Any ideas how to fix this?

Because the light is shining down at 45 degrees (see the shadow) so it's hitting the angle full on and the floor and wall at a slant.
This may not be relevant - I know lighting in DAZ is not the same as in the "real world" - but when using cycs in both the theatre and photography, the aim is normally to light the subject with one set of lights and the cyc with another. Getting the lighting angle/intensity right to get an evenly lit cyc is quite a skill! The blend between the cycs curve and the floor (ie where the two sets of light meet) can also be quite tricky, depending on the effect that you want.
What about the old trick of switching the cyclorama image from the Diffuse channel to Ambient? Does that still work with the kind of light rigs people use these days?
So much easier in the real world with video cameras that don't have the colour depth capabilities of renders.
Thanks for the tips! I've made different matterial zones for the cyc so I can tweek the ambient in different areas separately to try and kill the hotness.
