Hair autofit on big heads not working great

On toony heads like Toon Generations 2, a lot of hair doesn't autofit great because it assumes models have much smaller heads, meaning the hair underneath the chin will always be "pulled in" underneath the chin. It's a cute look, sure! But not always what you're looking for. Is there a way to change how the hair fits to the body? Specifically, might there be a weigh to fix it using the node weigh map brush? (I'm finally becoming comfortable with this tool, so it'd be great if it'd be possible to use it for this!) I tried adjusting the "general" weight maps but nothing related to the fit happened, though.

You could try creating a push modifyer wight map node for the hair, use symmetry (x) and paint the problem areas to expand them. Or also a dFormer or a dFormer weight map node could work.
Don't forget that a Push Modifier works along the normals - if the hair has any bits that tuck under, or any tail or tendril modelled as a cylinder, the modifier will go the wrong way.
Hmm true, but you can add negative offset values, right? Maybe a dFormer is a better alternative then?
can you check show hidden and dial out the toon morph on the neck maybe, if it needs other adjustments to compensate dial head propegating scale or other such morphs in very slightly on the figure so they show in the hair too.
Toon Generations 2 uses Genesis 3, so there won't be separate morphs for each bone as there are with legacy rigs.
with most FBM I find with show hidden checked under actor head etc you will have greyed out corrective sliders that will also show up in clothing and hairs, they may need to be unlocked in parameter settings in some cases, I will need to load a figure and check if it is the case with toon generations 2.
OK looked, while you cannot undial the toon generations by body part you can indeed the whole morph then slightly as I said dial in head propegating scale and height on the figure, if you have Zevo's growing up use that, just a tiny increment of each so the sliders show in the hair
then dial out toon generations in the hair and dial in the head propegating scale and the height or age morph
Don't autofit or fit to just parent the hair and scale it and translate where needed.
