What is "dynamic clothing" ?

Hey there!

I tried to use a few items from this website: http://www.optitex-dynamiccloth.com/FreebieDownload01.php

I can't seem to auto-fit any of them to my G8 characters. I own SY's clones and have auto-fitted generation 4 clothes successfully before.

I get the impression that "dynamic clothing" is perhaps something different. Can those items be used with G8, and if so how?

The OptiTex clothing won't AutoFit. What you could do is pose the figure to fit the clothes and/or pose the clothes to fit the figure, without fitting them as such, in frame 0 then apply your target pose in frame 30 (or your animation starting from frame 30) and in the dynamic Clothing pane set the type to Animated. The Optitex dynamic system is not related to dForce.

I used this video years ago to understand dynamic clothing and simulations and sometimes use it to refresh my memory. even though it is for poser you will probably find it usefull.
