Someone please tell me that there is more to working with mirrors than just to put someone or something in front of it and get a reflection.
I have a lot to learn but can this mirror be that easy to use? I'm still learning about lights and other things and do not want to get in over my head.

Thanks for all your help and understanding.

It's in the shader. Any surface can be reflective, it just takes tweaking to get it to look good.
This set seems to come with a mirror shader, so it just may be that easy to use. Just be mindful of your Raytrace Depth settings.
Yes indeed it's that easy to use with this prop set. Drop your character/figure in front of the mirror props and render. You'll get a reflection. The set also includes two balanced light sets, one standard DS raytraced lights, and one with Uber2 lights, so the reflection can fit a little better with the surroundings. Now light placement does play an important part in reflections and having an enclosed space like a room with walls or a skydomed environment will help with the scene reflection too, because if you just have the empty 3D void of the default startup there is nothing to reflect back in the mirror to the camera. And both the funhouse mirror and the mirrorball will give those distorted reflections as shown.
Thank you both. I need a clean mirror. I have a dirty mirror than came with a bathroom set. So I will learn about shaders tell I can get the useful mirror set.
