3rd Party Clothing Item Refuses To Appear in Daz 4.10

Hi,

I'm new to this application having successfully designed the Genesis 8 model to my liking and all other purchases i've made appear in Smart Content and/or Content Librarys.

However one clothing item I purchased from Renderosity just won't appear in Daz 4.10 at all no matter what I do.

For a bit of context, the mod has the following folder structure:

(there's also a separate templates folder zip, but I didn't include that above as I assumed that was for optional modding)

which I just put in: C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library.

No luck.

I also tried put it in:

C:\Users\[myusername]\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library

No luck either.

I've tried flicking between products & files and unchecking Filter by Context but nothing is working no matter what I do.

I definitely haven't gotten the compatible model wrong either. The 3rd party item clearly says Genesis 8 which is what I have.

Only thing I can think of is its possibly missing Metadata. But I haven't got the faintest idea how to check for metadata and/or easily insert into the files or if this is another issue entirely.

This is my main source of frustration with this application at the moment.

If someone can help me with this, that would be awesome.

  • They won't appear in Smart Content (or Products/Categories in the Content Library, or in the Presets tabs of property panes) unless they come with metadata and you import it, or they are set up for Install Manager and you install with that. They should, however, appear in the Content Library under Daz Studio Formats>My Library>People>Genesis 8 Female>Clothing>Model name (or whichever content directory used followed by the folders in the zip).

Or you may just have to refresh the folder or close DS and open it again.

I would have thought it would simply turn up in Products? And then it could be moved to Categories.

    Is this not the case?

It can't show up in Products if there's no metadata to tell DS that all those files / folders are part of that product.

  • Just use the products from Content Library >People>Genesis 8 Female>Clothing. Its as simple as that!

  • I've since resolved this. Was in my Content Library after.

    Just buried deep in there.
