How to move DAZ to an external drive?

When I installed DAZ, I went with the defaults and "My DAZ 3D Library" was placed under C:\Users\Public\Documents and every time I purchased something, that is where everything was placed. Over the years I have purchased a LOT of content and now the "My DAZ 3D Library" folder is taking up 333GB on my hard drive. I purchased a 4TB external drive and would like to move the "My DAZ 3D Library" folder over to that drive and have DIM start installing new content over there in the future.

... but I don't want to mess anything up and potentially lose everything ...

What is the easiest AND safest way of doing this? If someone could point out the steps, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

I somehow don't think that there is an external drive big enough to take Daz 3d     However Daz Studio should fit on one

Daz  or Daz 3d  is the name of the Company    Daz Studio or DS is the program

  • Hi Drago Nazhur,

i copied the two folders "DAZ 3D" (InstallManager) and "My DAZ 3D Libary" simply from "C:\Users\Public\Documents" to another drive say "X:\DAZ Data"

then i changed the paths in the Installmager (Downloads and Installation) to the new paths and defined a new shortcut to the new MyLibary

then you must start DAZ 3D Studio, open "Preferences" (F2) open "Content" and start the "Content Directory Manager" there are 2 paths to the "C:\Users\Public\Documents" (one under "DAZ Studio Formats" the other under "Poser Formats" i changed both to the new paths.

Check if your DAZ 3D Studio starts and performs correct, the you should be abel to delete the old folders.
