Modeling Novice Question: Imported Objects Get Deformed

Hi everybody
I am quite a novice in modeling and I am facing now a little problem with a pair of earrings I created in Hexagon. I try to explain it step by step.
1. I modeled a very simple pair of earrings in Hexagon
2. I exported it as an OBJ file
3. Now I imported the earrings OBJ file ( In Daz3D I had the identical character as in Hexagon for modeling)
4. The earrings appeared in the Viewport, where I expected them (at the ears)
5. I started the Transfer Utility and set the parameters as displayed in the picture below.
6. Then I applied any pose and got the following result. The earrings were deformed.
Obviously I did something wrong or missed a crucial step. Thanks for any hint in advance.

For earrings like that I would not use the transfer utility but simply parent them to the ears.
As for why they distort, since the hoops are quite big my guess would be that the transfer utility template used (default one) has "split" the hoops in sections related to different G2F body parts, so the "top part" probably follows the head and the "bottom part" follows the neck, which would explain why it distorts when you move the head.
@Leana: Thanks a lot for your explanation. I have already experimented with parenting the hoops only. But then immediatly faced a new problem :-) When the figure puts the head at an angle and I want to set any hoops in a vertical position the pivot point is in the middle of the hoops. Better would be a the top, where the hoops are connected to the earlobe.
You can change the pivot point of your object by selecting it and going in to Daz's Joint Editor Tool. Clear any rotation transforms you may have already on the object in its "regular" parameters window (you should be able to Alt-left click on the numbers to quickly clear them). Then with the object still selected and the Joint Editor Tool open and active, move the green point to your desired pivot point. Test your rotation transforms in the parameters window.
If you are happy with that, move on to attaching it to the body. "Rigid follow nodes" are a great way to accomplish this for things like simple jewelry and piercings. Here is a 4 minute video about Rigid Follow Nodes for the basics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4COp0PIC74
Here is a good 15 minute, start to finish, "Make an Eyebrow Ring" Tutorial playlist from the official Daz channel https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF3LSR7D48Md59r5Rp0mroreysskKzOe7 Parts 1 and 2 cover the basic modeling and shading, parts 3 and 4 cover what you're trying to do as well as saving it for use on other characters, just at the eyebrow instead of the ear lobe. All four videos are worth the watch for anyone trying out jewelry and simple prop modeling for Daz.
