Convert Genesis Shape to Genesis 8?

I have an old(er) figure I used in the past (not an 'off-the-shelf' character, one I 'made' twisting dials so to speak), I would like to convert it over to Genesis8.

How would I do this successfully? I tried saving the shape from Genesis and applying it to Genesis8 but it looks NOTHING like the original.

Ideas?

There are a number of steps involved but it is doable. Results may vary depending on how extreme the morph being transferred is.

A commercial script to simplify the conversion to G8 is under development by Singular Blue at the moment (see this thread). It started off as a G3-G8 converter but recent posts have stated they're adding support for earlier generations as well.

Kinda works...not acceptable as a transfer of the 'shape'...transfers morphs but the shape seems to get lost....

GEN1 on left....transfered to GEN2(F) on right....

Face is 'close'...body WAAAAY off
