dForce settings are being lost when I change material presets

Ok, I get that dForce settings are controlled via surfaces, I do (I think that's a bad design idea, it would have been better in my view for dForce modifiers to use vertex groups - these could even be automatically copied on the fly when a dForce modifier is added to an object and treated seperately from material surfaces. I'm a little shocked at learning that this is apparently not the case). But why should that mean that their PHYSICS properties are lost when a material or texture preset is loaded?
It shouldn't. Pure and simple. For example, if I manually change the texture files or shaders on a surface with dForce settings set up, those settings remain intact. It's only when I load a preset for all surfaces that the settings go away.
Is there any plan to fix this in the future?

I haven't noticed this happening - does it always happen, or does it require that the shader change?
The majority of products I own work correctly when applying their material presets to dForce clothing. I've seen what you describe happen with some products, though. I submitted a help request about a problem like that with Woodland Spirit dress and it got fixed. Submit a hlep request about the one you found. Maybe it will be fixed.
