Product "Required"?

Hey Everybody: This is probably a very "newbie" kind of question, but I have wondered when an item is listing as having a "required" product associated with, other than the morph it is meant to be compatible with do the textures (or what I think of as the skin) fit the over-all Genesis the morph is taken from? Case in point: Maxx is designed to go with The Brute, but is listed as a Genesis Male 8 character. Wouldn't Maxx's textured then fit any Genesis Male 8?

Texture should, but the character won't look the same as it takes advantage of the added morphs used in The Brute.
You can see here how Maxx without the Brute looks like: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/304026/maxx-hd-mega-pack-for-the-brute-8-commercial/p1
Many, All?, G8 characters work perfectly fine without their "required" base figure. In previous generations of Genesis this wouldn't have always been the case but in G8 if the character says it requires Victoria, or Stephanie etc., it doesn't. You may not be able to get a render to look exactly like what the product page shows but except for a few, like those built of the Brute, it will be very close.
It does if you want the character to look like the promos, as it uses the named character shape as part of the morph mix. However it's not required to use the texture, which was sometimes the case for older genesis versions as named characters each had their own UVs.
Thanks Everybody! I don't care about the character, just the textures, so you've all been extremely helpful. Safe to go ahead to purchase. Have a terrific day/week/ month, etc.
You snipped this sentence "You may not be able to get a render to look exactly like what the product page shows" where I made that point.
The point of my post was to give more details on what you said, not contradict it...
Actual morphs to the shape of the character won't work unless you have the required products.
But textures (skin) will work on any other Genesis 8 figure. So you can use that skin from one G8F on any other G8F absolutely fine.
Usually not "all" the morphs, but in many cases there are new morphs added to the morphs of the required character to get the final shape. While it won't look exactly the same without the required product, lots of times it can look close because the secondary morphs still work.
