Weird texture display problem in viewport

Hi guys,
About a week ago i got a problem in DAZ Studio 4.10, where the texture wouldn't display properly in the viewport. The only way i could fix it was by uninstalling daz, and deleting everything relating to it, including registry entries.

However, a week later and it's happened again.  I don't want to go through the whole process again and whilst it's possible to work around it, it takes so much longer to get things done.... and here's why....

As you can see, the eye's don't display properly, and neither do the lips... other things include nipples and gen detail.

I even installed the 4.11 Beta to see if it did the same in that and it has as you can see.

Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

  • Check the settings in Edit>Preferences>Interface tab (Daz Studio>Preferences>Interface tab for a Mac). Check that DS is using the dedicated GPU if you have one and a GPU n the CPU (Help>Troubleshooting>About Your Video Card).

  • To expand on richard's answer a bit.

    Display optimization: None

    texture resolution:Quality

You may also need to turn the pixel buffer on, and adjust the size parameters up.

    This will increase vram usage.

A few other items to think about.

Have you updated your video drivers recently?

Some times having the latest video driver actually causes issues, so you might need to roll them back.

Some Shaders will not show correctly in the preview, regardless of display settings, but will correctly at render.

Are you using the included materials with the selected character( appears to be Sc julie based on the image you posted) or are you using a seperate product?

Some shaders just don't play well with others and the display results are no where near the render results.

There's a bit of a bug i've noticed with the last couple itterations of daz studio where certain combinations of shaders settings for different products, generally clothing and hair, turn all kinds of weird colors in the viewport when combined.

Doesn't mater if it's AMD or Nvidia gpus.

Personally i really don't worry about what is displayed in the viewport, texture wise, as long as the render looks good.
