how do I make my own UV Maps in Daz Studio?

I'm an old Poser user, and new to Daz Studio. I used to make my own UV Maps, by exporting a prop as a wavefont object. (Obj) and then import it into a modeling program.( at that time Wings 3D.) Then export the UV map, open it up in the Gimp and make my map. The problem is: how do I open it up in DS, and use my map for that prop?

There is a uv view right under your camera views. You can probably just take a screen shot of that. Or export as an obj, then import into a modeling program, then export the uv map, open it up in Gimp and make your map.

I think to get the uv map into DS, you go to the scene tab, right click and select Edit, Geometry, Load UV Set, and then you can select your obj file.

  • Sorry getting back to you so late. I was working on my modeling skills. I'll give that a try and see how it works. Thank you!
