Simple question about stacking morphs by total newbie.

Hi. Just downloaded Daz Studio 4 and the Genesis 8 starter essentials and had a play. It's a bit limited (naturally) and I'm looking at a few packages in the store. Before I buy I want to understand what is compatible with what. If I were to buy the Genesis 8 Body Morphs (male and female) and perhaps the head morphs to go with them, how does that interact with pre-built characters for Genesis 8. Will it all "stack"? Can I use any of the dials and such from the morphs packs with the characters and it will all still work? This stems from my not fully understanding what the characters are. Are they just something that could be achieved with genesis 8 if you spent a lot of time getting everything right, plus a unique skin texture? Or are they more than that?

I also might as well ask - I noticed that Genesis does not seem to have any genitals. I feel bad for it - is there any way to give it some self-respect?

Thanks for any replies. I have done some reading but I didn't find definitive answers and I want to be sure before spending that much money.

I'm on my phone, so I'm gonna try to be concise. :) You can take any morphs that apply to Genesis 8 and dial them all to 100 if you wanted. (the ones you are looking at, and any others, like. Rarestone's morphs or the 200 plus morphs pack. Sorry, don't know the exact names at the moment.) It might look weird, but you can. You could also, say, load up Genesis 8 Male and, if you buy Michael, you could put the Michael head dial to any percent you want to get a mix. I pretty much always start with some existing character and dial in different percents before adding more fine tuned morphs. I don't think you could recreate Michael 8 with just morphs available on the store, but I could be wrong. Someone else will have to clarify that. As for gens, those are called "anatomical elements" and can't be bought separately. Only the pro packs featuring adults include them, and only for that gender. So the Victoria 8 pro bundle will have female gens included, but the Teen Josie pro bundle won't. The gens are just the geometry though. Pretty much all adult characters come with the textures that you then apply after adding the gens. Hope that helped some!

Clarification: there is a way to do cross-gender morphs I think, but it's not a standard feature. So when I said any genesis 8 morph, I meant any created for that gender.

Thanks Symms. That does indeed help a lot. Sounds like I'm fine to get a character pack and the genesis morphs and combine away. Just to check what you mean about the gens "are just geometry though", you mean like, no customisation or rigging or something?

A final question because the Pro packs seem quite expensive, how compatible are pro bundles for previous versions of Genesis with Genesis 8 and the morph packs? Completely different or could I say buy a Gen 7 character Pro bundle and still use it?

with the anatomical elements they do only work with the generation they are specified for, as they are a geograft, and the polygons need to match exactly for the graft to work.

You do need to only buy one pro version for each generation though as the anatomical elements are the same for each new adult character of the same sex.    When a new character comes out there are frequently good deals to be had during the intro sale.

@Symms, Sorry to barge in like this, but I just wanted you to know I've sent you a PM.
