Background for props

I have this shed prop and it is standalone.

I got the TreeScapes Backdrop product which places the trees behind it.

I guess I can load an HDR for sky with clouds, but then what do I do for the ground?

Are there any products that create beleivable looking ground planes, like grass, gravel, etc? ... The HDR images create nice backdrops and skys, but don't always create nice ground areas I am finding.

So I was wondering if there is an all-around product to create a "carpet" of different nature effects.

Do a store search for "grass" and that brings up many possibilities.

There are also several freebie grass sets, such as can be found here: https://erock3d.com

Search your library for "ground". Any prop that is a ground should show up. I think you should also have the Cyclorama which has background and ground.

    Thank you Fishtales!

I found a grass base from Fabric Gazebo. It looks nice but a bit flat and not as realistic as I would like.

I will check out Cyclorama. There is also a product called "ULTIMATE Grass & Meadow Worldbuilder" that I am considering, but I've only been using DAZ Studio for a couple months now so I'm worried it might be too advanced for me. Have you used this one?

I have Grass and Meadow and find that it can be quite hard on resources at times.

  • The ones that look good tend to be murder on VRAM IME.

Thanks. I puchased the ULTIMATE Grass & Meadow Worldbuilder in the DAZ Shop.

It seems to run fine on my PC, but then I just purchase a new PC with an advanced graphics card, 1070 GPU, so that could be why my render times are not super long.

But anyway, it worked really well and creates very realistic carpets of prairie and grass type effects with little flowers dotted throughout. And the skies are included so there is nothing more to do than to place the figures or structures in the scene.

you can also flatten a sphere primitive and texture that with grass tiling as necessary

make it the size to fit one of the curved backdrops and you are set

you can also render out your own png backdrops from big scenes  and in gimp or another software create an opacity map to use on a curved or straight BG prop

    in gimp, photoshop etc

just make black your BG colour white your foreground

select the BG by colour, invert and fill with foreground colour then flatten the image and export a jpg

want to be really clever, render a few billboards to place in front of buildings and trees and create normal  maps for them

Thanks for all the advice. I'm not very advanced at this yet, but I will keep your suggestions for future use.
