Restoring bones to a character

Somewhere along the line of developing a dForce product, I accidentally screwed up the foot bones of one my characters.  Essentially I can't pose her feet, toes etc at all.  Is there a way to restore the rigging?

You may have locked those body parts accidentally. In that case you should be able to unlock them from the scene tab.
