So I have been wondering for quite a while- how do you take an already existing animation and have the whole thing take place where you want it rather than there the animation wants to play?  In other words when I load an animation it wants to place it elsewhere, even if the figure I am trying to use it on is already placed where I want the animation to take place?

Easiest way to do this, usually, is to put the figure being animated inside a group. You then apply the animation to the figure, but position the figure by shifting/rotating the location of the group.
