Pockmarks

Ok, so I have another question.  How would I go about creating a pock mark onto a character?  IS there some sort of a morphing device in studio that can simulate that?  I am talking about the kind of mark you get when you have chicken pox and scratch it.  I have wondered about this for along while also and figured I'd ask if someone here knows how to accomplish that.

    Although it may be hypothetically possible to model or morph the mesh to create such an effect, generally such small features would be created using bump mapping, displacement mapping or normal mapping. Bump maps will work fine as long as the area is being viewed more or less straight on, otherwise displacement or normal mapping that distorts the mesh would be best.
