Transfer Active Morphs for an A3/H3 based character?

I think maybe I'm needing some help on using Transfer Active Morphs, just when I thought it was fairly straightforward. I've lately been trying out various options on fitting A3 and H3 clothes to a not-quite-A3 or H3 character — actually the Melody/Micah critter figures based on A3 and H3, plus the CDI freebie morphs and a bunch of the available morph packs. Body types vary from small and skinny to seven feet tall and nearly that wide. It frequently works quite well, but...

What's happening is that, when I use the transfer function, not all the character morphs (not even all of the non-zero ones) get transferred to the clothes. And not all of the successfully transferred morphs turn up in the same categories in the Parameter Tab, sometimes I have the same morph for different body parts under, say, "Morphs" and some under "Morph". Could this be an old glitch in the character .cr2, the clothes .cr2, or what? This is getting me even more confused than I was to begin with. Ideas, anyone?

Note: I haven't updated from 4.6.0.18 yet, would doing this help any?

I can't even find the transfer active morphs option any more. Does anyone know what happened?

Right click on the figure in the viewport and its in there. Just to be safe, make sure no hair is fitted to the figure when you do other wise DS will do the hair as well as the clothes.

SpottedKitty, what clothing items are use trying to fit to Melody?

I'm not sure yet, but it seems to be a matter of "which morphs" rather than "which clothes". Usually the standard A3 morphs will transfer OK, sometimes the Capsces CDI morphs won't transfer cleanly, sometimes the Melody-specific morphs won't transfer at all. But not always.

Model complexity doesn't seem to matter either. The old freebie Batlab leotard usually works with only a bit of smoothing tweaking required, so does Earane, Cool Fever and Akira. Captain Black doesn't without a lot of manual poking, as do the Leather Set's biker jacket, and the Alice in Wonderland bloomers sorta... bloom in odd directions. And so on. Whatever's behind this behaviour, I haven't isolated it yet.
