Understanding Daz and what I can do with it.

I have no Idea on how to use Daz3d. I am just trying to understand the basic of the system.
So if I hire someone to do it for me. I will be able to know what to ask for.
Let say I am making a game and I want this Char in the game
https://www.daz3d.com/alaric-hd-for-genesis-8-male
So What would I need to purchase.
Question 2)
Lets say I want to make a came, and I want the above char but for him to be sitting in a chair such as
https://www.daz3d.com/classic-living-room
Is that possible to do. or better yet how easy or hard is it for someone to that.
Aslo lets say I had https://www.daz3d.com/victorian-decor-3-iray
Would that be two chair shots that would need to be designed or could the same sitting postion be used for each chair.
Sorry for not using the right terms. As I said I know zero about any of this.
Comments
1) you would need the product, its Interactive License, and the Interactive License for Genesis 8 Starter Essentals. Note that if you were outsourcing the sceen creation the person doing the work would also need the base license (but not the Interactive License). That assumes the game is going to contain 3D data - if it's just 2D renders (still images, sprites, or videos) then you don't need the Interactive Licenses.
2) Yes, that is moderately straightforward - whether the same pose would work on multiple chairs would depend on the chairs.
In addition to the above:
Ok, so first the very basics... Daz3D is a free modelling tool which allows you to model ('position') 3D characters in a setting and then create a render of it (the 3d image end result). It also allows you to animate characters and render those results, but I can't comment on that because I have very little experience with this.
The program itself provides some starter contents to work with but in order to make the most out of the software you're going to need some 3D material to work with. One example could be the link you shared above, though I would recommend concentrating on getting a starters set or a bundle. For example:
The Stephanie 5 starters bundle:
https://www.daz3d.com/stephanie-5-starter-bundle
Or:
The Stephanie 5 pro bundle:
https://www.daz3d.com/stephanie-5-pro-bundle
You'll notice that the Pro bundle includes items from the starter bundle (and more).
Just an example, the reason I mention this is because these bundle include Riley which is my all time favorite character.
So, the reason I mention all this: if you were to purchase just Riley alone you'd get the model but nothing to go with it. A bundle usually includes some extra items such as a small wardrobe, props (stuff to use in your scenery), hair styles, hair colors, and so on. Limited (depending on the bundle) but enough to get you started with making nice renders.
If you were only to get a figure (Riley in my example, Alaric in yours) you'd get the figure and that's it. Note the bottom of the Alaric product page: "Additional products used in promo image...". So if you want the figure as its shown in the image you'd also need to get those other items as well. In this case a specific armor and hair due. Doable, for sure, but it's often a better idea to concentrate on a bundle of some sort because that will provide a lot of material to help you make various sceneries and renders.
So keep that in mind: if you'd get Alaric you'd only get the figure, not the items that go with it.
You'd obviously need to purchase that set as well, but it's quite doable. This is just the thing you can do with Daz Studio. Easy or hard depends of the expertise of the person doing it.
2 shots and 2 sceneries to purchase.
Hope this can also help!
Daz Studio is not a modelling tool.
From the Front Page of the Daz 3d website (Daz 3d being the Company, Daz Studio being their signature program)
ds1695
You shoulkd vist the New Users Forum, and ask questions there, it is designed to help people like you get to grips with their new software
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/categories/new-users
ds1695, the majority of users use DAZ Studio for rendering still images and for creating animation which is pretty much what the program is developed for. If you are looking for things to help in creating a game the Unity store and forums would be the best starting point as that is what they do and DAZ (Morph3D) also sells assets there specifically for game use.
With all due respect but "3D creation software tool"? How is a new user supposed to know what that means?
I can't exactly create 3D models using Daz Studio, that's what I use Hexagon (and some others) for. You know that, I know that, I don't think a new user will know. Sure, I can create 3D renders, but how does one do that? By adding figures, props, etc. and (I know I'm nitpicking here): "give a three-dimensional appearanceto, as by shading or highlighting.", which is actually one of the definitions for modelling.
Ergo: "modelling tool" will give a much better description of what you can use Daz Studio for than the official (commercially pitched) description. In my opinion of course. As such my comment above.
As a modeler I disagree. 3D modeling is the process of "creating" a mathematical representation of any surface of an object in three dimensions. The only way to create anything in DS is to combine primitives together. Since DS has no modeling capabilities other than rigging and deleting polys to say it is one would be even more confusing to a user, new or not when they open the program and discover they can't create a 3D model..
A posing, rendering and animation app would be more appropriate.
DAZ is primarily for posing existing figures to make still images. Digital dioramas, so to speak.
DAZ can also be used to create animations, but I think its animation capacities are limited and most folks don't use it that way. (I could be wrong about this, it's just the impression I'm getting.)
DAZ doesn't strike me as the most obvious way to make a game, unless it's a game that consist of a series of mostly still images, like a Dating Sim.
Why don't you ask the person you're going to hire for their opinion?
I use DAZ to create Visual Novel with...
