Smart Content Selections

Hello,

I have a question about products with Smart Content. 

Many times that I use a product there are multiple duplicate choices for something. For instance, in the picture attached, you will see that for the Lash Utilities product, there are types of eyelashes you can choose from in the Shaping menu. However, many of these eyelashes are all given the same exact title, and they do the same exact thing. The "Lashes Utilities 06 Pin-Up" is listed 6 times, and they all add the exact same eyelashes to the figure. No difference at all in the name, the picture, or what shape they are.  

I have noticed this with a lot of DAZ content, where items are duplicated twice, sometimes more. Is there a reason to list the same choice multiple times as duplicates? In the case of the eyelashes, the lashes are grouped into types of lashes, and each one is listed exactly 6 times in the selection area. So I just pick one at random within the set. They are all Iray, and they are all the same exact shape. 

Just curious. It's something I've been confused about with DAZ Studio for a while now. It appears in many different products this way, where you have duplicate selections that have the same exact functionality.

    Because you are in the "Products" part of Smart Content, it is showing you all the shaping pressets for Genesis 2, 3 and 8 Female and Genesis 2, 3 and 8 Male.

    If you single-click on each shape preset with the "Info" tab enabled at the bottom of that panel (click on that little triple-line box highlghted in my screen capture) then the Info will tell you which is which.  (OK so it would be handy if the icons said which was which!)

    Or use the "Files" part of Smart Content and it should show you only the shaping presets that are appropriate for the active figure's lashes.

    Yeah, I spend a lot of time peeking at that "Info" tab - there are a lot of multi-figure products (plus quite a few with indistinguishable icons for Iray and 3Delight materials options) where it's hard to tell which one to use.

    Thanks. I had minimized that Info tab thinking it was of little use. Boy was I wrong. I will be looking at it a lot now.
