Need help fixing up some Buffy face skins created with Faceshop

I've been creating characters from the Buffy The Vampire Slayer TV show using Faceshop. So far they look pretty good, but I need to clean up the face skins, and I'm not really skilled on how to do it. I have Gimp (no Photoshop), but I'm not that good at using it. If anyone could give me some direction about how to do this, I would really appreciate it.
