Surfaces tab is blank. Why? {RESOLVED}

This wasn't a problem when I started the scene, but it is now. I'm working in DS4.6 (still hate it, lol) and I am trying to change the surface settings on something, but my surfaces tab is blank even though the gown in the scene is selected.

Can anyone help me to remedy that?

    Well, you're showing the presets menu in the surfaces tab rather than the editor. I'm assuming that you're talking about the dynamic gown or robe, so if you select that item in the scenes tab and then switch back to the surfaces tab and click editor, do you still get no selections?

    Thanks. I had a feeling it was something simple like that ... lol.

    I don't even know what presets does, so have no idea how it got switched since it's unlikely I would have selected it ... lol.

    Thanks :D

    No problem. If I hadn't done it myself, it probably wouldn't have been so obvious. :)

    Also note that if this box is not checked when the object is selected, they won't show up either, as you can see here:
