zero pose (for Genesis)

I have these model templates that where made for V4 and M4
But those models are in the zero-pose
I want to be able to use these templates with Genesis and Genesis 2
But the templates being in the funky zero pose...sort is making that hard to do
Is there a pose that copies the M4 and V4 zero pose?
Comments
Texture templates? Pose has no effect on the way maps fit the model, if it did you'd have to redo the textures for every pose. The templates will enable you to produce textures that work on Genesis as long as you use the correct UV Set. If those aren't the templates you meant we need some more details.
....No, not textures
Real templates, to model from
I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean - could you link to an example?
I've read your question a few times and I am also in the dark about what you mean.
Only thing that comes to mind is GenX with that you can transfers morphs from other generations towards Genesis: http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x
But I have a feeling that is also not what you are looking for.
Somewhere in the forums I saw one being created for Genesis. Have to load the 2 main figures and carefully reposition Genesis to the 4's position. Might be over at sharecg.com?
Or possibly you could import the .obj clothing templates into a modeler along with Genesis' .obj default position, and reposition the templates to match Genesis. [I don't model with Poser so not sure myself on this one]
And depending upon whose templates those are, might need to check with the provider. Some quickstart modelers are very particular that their starters are only used for the one model.
No, the guy I bought the models from and tutorials videos, he didn't care how his stuff is used, he said the templates can be however they want. It's a resource
Fugazi1968, just wasn't sure if is was possible or not
Okay. Should be possible but it's not something I've done to have the workflow down pat.
In D/S one can export out Genesis as an .obj file ... import it into Hexagon and weld the whole thing together. In effect creating a 'clothing dummy'. Import in the template you have and reposition it to be exactly where you want it on Genesis.
Normally we [or some of us] model to the basic "as it loads" Genesis. Because you are starting with a fitted template for V4, then you might want to have dialed in V4 to Genesis and then export that out to be the clothing dummy.
Once it's all positioned, delete Genesis and then export out the new clothing template for V4Genesis.
Carry on modeling however ...
In D/S somewhere along the line when making the clothing you'll need to do a 'reverse morphing' option so the finished project will work.
Have no idea how it's done in Poser.
Well, mostly what I want
Are the shoes/boot templates that I have managed to find
The tutorial set has t nice starter shoe
The Genesis template that you pointed out...lacks the shoes, but the person's V4 and M4 sets have them
Joequick's Genesis starter suits have 'everything' ... full body.
And somewhere in the forums he has generously gone through a minitut for making shoes/boots too.
If you're making the clothing in D/S, you don't want Genesis posed to V4, you'll want the V4 starter suit posed to Genesis default.
When using starters, I prefer to use one that was modeled for Genesis in the first place.
....you can't really make decent cloth in Daz
Daz isn't meant to be use as a modeling program
I'd be using Silo...tried 3d Max, but that's too complex to get around in to do basic things
With Genesis, making the clothing file is real easy.
One models the clothing in a modeler ... imports it into D/S and makes the clothing file using the Transfer Utility. If the clothing .obj isn't landing on Genesis in default position, one will not have satisfactory results making the clothing file in D/S.
Since the question was posed in more than one place, will post the answer here too for anybody else wanting it ... the pose I was thinking of is this one:
http://www.sharecg.com/v/60135/view/21/DAZ-Studio/Genesis-V4-pose-adjust-script
My problem would be solved if I could easily use the Daz's Fit To option with these models
You need to adjust the models to fit Genesis, not vice versa, then use the Transfer Utility.
Well you can ... does take abit of work though. [and sometimes a little creative thinking]
IF you adjust the pose on Genesis to match V4, that also must be removed before exporting out the .obj.
End result .obj is to be suitable for use on the default Genesis.
