I am wondering if dForce is compatible with Intel Core i5? And if so, what steps would I have to take in order to install it?

From a previous question that touched on this I believe the answer is a definite maybe - based on what generation your i5 is. What you need is a 'device' (GPU or CPU) that cabn run OpenCL. nVidia gfx cards should be able to do so, and Intel CPUs can, if you have loaded the relevant drivers. Early i5 CPUs are not able to run those drivers (or none are available) so you'll need to look up yuour actual i5 processor name and see what generation it is.
I asked the same question a few weeks ago; that thread should give you some good info, and links to get the OpenCL 1.2 drivers needed for dForce. Note that version 1.2 — dForce won't run on the earlier OpenCL 1.1 drivers.
Any post sandy bridge( 2011/2012) intel processor should be able to handle openCL drivers. If it is a CORE I5 it should work. the first Core (named) processor was sandy bridge.
you should also read this:

Interesting info, but it doesn't really put much emphasis on which hardware, CPU or GPU, supports OpenCL 1.2.
Yeah, I posted before I really read your earlier post. My own openCl issues were on a pre sandy bridge machine. Currently on a AMD Ryzen and Vega pairing. Sucks for CUDA, but greart for openCL.
It's not a definite maybe. it's a definite yes. Apparently dForce does work with Intel Core i5, as I dForced a couple of dresses since Thursday.
